The narrative around Artificial Intelligence in the workplace is rapidly evolving. Gone are the days when AI was a distant sci-fi concept; today, it’s a tangible force reshaping industries and job roles.
A recent study by PwC predicts that AI could contribute up to $15.7 trillion to the global economy by 2030, with enhanced productivity and consumer demand driving this growth. However, this revolution brings a wave of apprehension, especially around job security. Many professionals worry about being replaced by AI; a sentiment echoed in various sectors. Cyndy: People are still afraid, even here, that AI is going to take their jobs and leave them jobless. My perspective is that now is the time to jump on the train and move in the direction it’s heading. Figure out how to upskill yourself and embrace what AI can and can’t do for you. Understand the possibilities and opportunities it offers. The best we can do right now is to get involved in a community, start having conversations, and grasp what AI can bring to us.
Cyndy: Because in six months, the landscape will be vastly different. This is the least advanced version of AI we will ever encounter. Looking at something like ChatGPT, for instance, we’re seeing its most basic iteration. A year from now, we’ll look back and laugh at what we’re working with today, given how rapidly it’s evolving. So, just hop on the AI train and hang on tight as we move forward.
